[Sticky] Introduce Yourself / Show Us Your T4
New to the forum? Start here.
Tell us a little about yourself and, more importantly, show us the T4.
You can keep it as simple or detailed as you like. Useful things to include are your name or forum name, roughly where you’re from, what T4 you own, engine, year, SWB or LWB, panel van/caravelle/camper/conversion and what you’ve done or plan to do with it.
Photos are strongly encouraged. This is a T4 forum after all. A thousand posts consisting entirely of text would be a fairly bleak achievement.
Finished camper, work van, daily driver, restoration project, immaculate show van or something currently spread across twelve boxes in the garage, they all count.
If your van has an interesting story, tell us.
And if you’re starting a proper build or restoration, create your own thread in the relevant Builds / Members’ Vans section as well. That gives you somewhere to keep the whole story together as the van develops.
Welcome aboard.
Must admit I found the join button difficult to find. “Join the Community” on the home page took me back to the Facebook page, rather than taking me to a page to register on the forum, which is what I was expecting.
Here’s a side shot of my van (now has amber indicator lenses). A 99/00 2.5tdi. It’s an 88 but was lightly remapped by a previous owner, who also fitted an intercooler and EGR blank. Had it serviced at Scotty’s in Bicester this week. They said “it’s a particularly good one” 👍 Bought from Redland Vans in Lincolnshire a couple of years ago. Had some furniture put in the rear by DreamCatcher Campers in Stourbridge.

Welcome to the forum, thanks for the feedback on the joining issue, will look at making it more obvious which link leads to where 👍
Hey all,
I got my 2002 LWB 2.5 ACV Van almost 12 months ago this month.
It’s a home painted military black chunk of a thing and I do love it.
Currently in my local garage having a lot of Pre MOT work done, which won’t be cheap but I’m in it for the long haul, no pun intended…well maybe 😜
It’s no show pony but that isn’t my goal. A good solid van that has got the basics is all I need.
I’m in Mid Cheshire so be good to see who else is nearby too.
Great to be here and find a home to chat and learn.
I’ll add a pic or two once I’ve trimmed the size a bit 😉
Hi, here’s Mario.
2003 2.5 88
on a bit of a journey with this one.
Mario came to me in a sorry state. Owned for many years by a carpenter and used as a work van.
the interior was pretty bad and the bodywork was shocking… but the engine seemed to be solid, pulled well and other than a bit of smoke from the aged injectors, it was running pretty smoothly.
First thing was getting everything done for the MOT.
Some fairly major bodywork was done to start with. Then a big service and it flew through.
Once that was done, I started with making the changes I wanted. I now understand that one change quickly leads to another….and another…..
seats changed to two single Audi black leather things. they are a bit high, but I’m fairly tall so it suits me.
steering wheel – just a cheap one off Amazon… but had a nightmare with the steering boss kit. Heritage had the correct one.
the interior has been carpeted, panelled and now has a nice set of spot lights and LEDs.
the sound system has had a complete overhaul with every panel, roof and door completely sound deadened. This was pretty costly.
then insulation on top of that, before the carpet and then panels over the top.
audiosport front door pockets and top mounted 6×9 enclosure made the install a lot easier.
its been lowered properly, so it doesn’t ride rock solid, but corners like you’re driving a car 👌
the 20mm spacers were apparently what made the difference between it riding nicely and feeling like a bag of turds.
its sat on 18” axe wheels the ex01 set.
stainless side bars got added as well.
New discs and pads on the front…
numerous seals and some leaking pipes replaced which stopped the small oil leak and coolant drip.
engine wise,
it’s had the injectors changed to the PP01 set from Ron Rake.
stage 2 hybrid turbo from RR
induction filter
4 bar map sensor
vac lines replaced with silicone
intercooler
egr delete
pp tuning 2.5” downpipe
pp tuning as side exit exhaust with set cat
180amp alternator
ina water pump/belt/pulley kit.
bigger battery
intake manifold cleaned out – this was caked in sludge and carbon.
ecu mapped
–
the sachs paddle clutch kit has been ordered with the organic disc from Darkside – another 1000 quid 🤣
that’s due to be fitted at the end of Sept along with the replacement injector (one failed pretty quickly) and then….. finally….. it’s off to Portsmouth for a proper tune on the Dyno at TH Performance.
thats the story so far…
Morning folks,
Was happily provided the link this morning so here I am as promised. I will agree with above, the link took me through to an overall page for the Facebook group so finding the forum section took some hunting but here I am
Mine is a rather badly beaten 2000 T4 2.5 ACV with just under 200k miles on the clock. Ex-Sparkie van and a blank canvas I am rebuilding, restoring and converting to a day van/light camper. Going to set up a project page on here to bring everyone along for the journey but here is a couple of pics of when I bought her looking a looking sorry for itself
You can delete this post, just testing BBCode posting and it seems to work
Morning All,
Its years since I’ve used a forum like this but so glad there is now a lovely shiny new one for T4’s! Its certainly 100% better than trying to find a post on FB!
I am Mark from Norfolk (born in York) and I have owned ‘Jexter’ for 9 years now. I have been through many interior changes along the way but I think i have now got to one that works for me. I still have things I want to add and improve but I now have the basis of what I want. Will start a build thread when I get chance.
Enough waffle from me for now! Its great to be here!
