You might get an “INSP / OIL” alert on the dash display if your van thinks it’s due a service. While this shouldn’t necessarily be ignored, it can get out of sync with reality for various reasons. If you’re certain your van’s not due a service, you might want to reset things so the van stops bugging you. I can’t remember where I found this, but it works — here’s how…

  1. Ignition off: Make sure your T4’s ignition is completely off.
  2. Press and hold the trip button: press and hold the odometer/trip reset button (usually the bottom-right button on the dash).
  3. Turn on the ignition: while holding the button, turn the key to the “on” position — but don’t start the engine.
  4. Wait for Display: The display will show “OIL” or “INSP” and might flash.
  5. Reset Service:
    • For Oil/INSP: If you see “OIL” or “INSP”, release the trip button, then turn the clock set knob (bottom-left button) clockwise to reset it.
    • If it Cycles: You might see “OIL” first, then “INSP”. Release the trip button when the desired service (Oil or INSP) is shown, then twist the clock knob clockwise to clear it.
  6. Confirm: Turn the ignition off and then on again to verify the service light is gone.

Great info, making that one a sticky for future reference for others 👍
